Expression
Reasoning behind this wine : A wine without sulfites.
As this wine is 100% natural and absolutely without any additives, we see it a the true expression of the Gamay Noir grape in the granite based Côte Roannaise terroir, hence its name. This wine can be seen as an exception; it may not be possible to produce it every year, depending on harvest conditions and as a seasonal wine as it will keep for a shorter time than wine with sulfites. This type of wine is very rare as few producers will take the risk of not adding sulfites. This wine offers a rare opportunity to taste as a wine-maker may do, directly from tank or barrel before adding sulfites. Tasting notes: the aromatics are particularly marked by pepper, typical of Gamay. How the wine is made: Without added sugar during fermentation (no chaptalisation) as is the case with all our wines. No sulfites are added at any stage, or any other additives. Therefore, quite simply 100% fermented grape juice. Sounds obvious but this is very much an exception.
